THE Wartime Leadership Podcast: The Resiliency of Dr. William Attaway. First off, William has been the lead paster at Southview Community Church in Herndon, Virginia for the last 17 years. He is a John Maxwell Team certified speaker, coach and trainer. He has taught courses at several institutions including Washington University of Virginia and Itawamba Community College. He holds a Ph.D. in Old Testament with an emphasis in Biblical Backgrounds and Archaeology. Additionally, William is the Founder and CEO of Catalytic Leadership, LLC where he focused on helping leaders grow through intentionality and coaching by replacing their current habits and grow towards greater effectiveness and impact.
During this episode, Dr. Attaway walks us through his definition of Spiritual Resilience. He helps us understand how it helps him navigate leading a church and the stressors associated with being responsible with the spiritual resilience of a large church congregation. William defines catalyst as “an agent that provokes or speeds significant change or action.” This definition drove him to question why there are not more catalytic leaders and the discovery process led to authoring his second book, Catalytic Leadership. He breaks down 12 leadership points that are transferable from the boardroom to the educator’s classroom. Dr. Attaway and I have a very meaningful conversation that had a significant impact on upcoming decision my family will be making.
