THE Wartime Leadership Podcast: The Resiliency of Congressional Fellow John Davis. From failing Community College, to earning a master’s in education from Harvard University. John is a veteran and served multiple combat tours as an Infantry Squad Leader with the 101st Airborne Division. John started working for the US Dept of Veterans Affairs while writing for and coaching student veterans. He has taught everything from incarcerated teenagers to English in Thailand, to American Youth Ninja Warrior. He is the most tattooed person with a Harvard degree.
During this episode, John defines Spiritual Resilience in his life and the role it played during tumultuous combat situations. We speak about his book: Combat To College (https://amzn.to/3EsGy8v) and the impact he has working with veterans every day. We discuss the honor he had testifying before Congress as a legislative fellow working with the Student Veterans of America. John helps us understand the need for veterans to continue to operate in nature rather than retreating into the indoors and that PTSD is NOT a permanent diagnosis.
